Good day Pandananons!
I hold an old book named Maragtas of Pedro Alacantara Monteclaro acclaimed as one author throwing light to Panay´s past.The stories are told in the old Kiniray-a;some of the words are “madalom”.According to the chronology, after the ten datus first settled in Malandug,Hamtic,seven remained in Antique and proceeded to Polandan before going to Aklan, the second “hot-ong”.
The footnote says POLANDAN is PANDAN.
Polandan is the earliest form coined to Pandan in the 13th century, 2 centuries before The Spaniards came.I also know about BUGAN(BUGANG). The antiques and remnants of the excavations of the antique hunters along the river twenty or more years ago reveal that the Borneans first settled along Bugang, just like in Malandug which is a big river.Sad to say, perhaps no Pandananons have some antiques.
Following the details, the “PAN and “DAN” version is debatable.
I suppose Polandan is an older and more authentic name for Pandan!

ang saya ng bakasyon nmin jan ng pamilya ko last dec.28 to jan 1. sobrang saya talaga. for 8 years bago ako nkauwi jan sa pandan, maraming pagbabago na. na miss ko na agad ung pamilya ko at mga kamag anak ko,pati na rin ang pag swimming namin sa malumpati at boracay. Regards nlng po sa inyong lahat jan sa pandan. Sana maulit muli ang reunion natin.
